AstraZeneca, the world's largest pharmaceutical company, announced today that it has received final approval for a generic version of Nexium (esomeprazole) 20 mg tablets in a price increase from its North American subsidiary AstraZeneca.
Nexium is used to treat frequent heartburn (two or more times per week) and other acid-related stomach conditions, including gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD), ulcers, and dyspepsia.
Nexium 20 mg tablets are the first version of Nexium available in the U. S., providing a longer duration of action, up to 20 hours.
